Personal Life
Diversity in any form is a great way to live life, and so diversity has been an integral part of my life. Being born in the beautiful town of Brasschaat in Antwerp, Belgium, I had the privilege to have my primary education in a renowned Dutch school Open Lichtus School, where strong academic, lingual and ethical lessons were instilled within me. I mastered speaking, reading and writing in a language, which was not spoken at home. By participating in activities like tennis, swimming and dancing, I developed into a young confident individual. Unforeseen circumstances led me across the world to Mumbai, India where I was introduced to a whole new world; new languages, new people, and a new culture.
However, my love of language, any language, gave me the strength to rise from not speaking English at all to winning National accolades and doing a summer program at the prestigious Ivy League school Brown University in the United States. My love for books and reading motivated me to such an extent that I penned down a novel which is now ready for publishing. I am a strong orator, a team leader leading several projects and teams in my school. I am an avid writer, working for NGOs and writing about school events. I have adapted, lived and learned in many diverse surroundings and people and will always have the ability to adapt to an ever-changing world.
Upcoming Work
Currently, I am working on two different series. One is a science fiction/ thriller type book about a boy who falls through a doorway in space and time and ends up stranded on an alien planet. The alien planet in question is in the middle of a bloody rebellion against a ruthless dictator, and the boy must find his way back to Earth before he is caught in the middle of an extra terrestrial war.
The second series is fantasy series about a boy who, at a young age, is kidnapped and taken to the magical realm of Faerie, home to the Fair Folk. The Fair Folk are a beautiful but cruel people, who enslave the young boy. But when a dangerous secret is revealed and the young boy is placed in the running for the Throne of Faerie against a cruel Fae Prince, he will become embroidered in a game of bloody politics as everyone vies for the throne, wants to use him to do so.
I am writing in these two genres because I have always liked the impossible. I always read stories that had otherworldly elements to it, and loved them because they allowed an escape from the mundane for there’s only one place where you could soar higher than the sun or swim across the deepest oceans and that is between the pages of a book. I fashioned my own stories after the incredible and the magical which is why I write about hidden societies of unearthly beings or alien life on hidden planets.
